Dreams By Langston Hughes

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

My Thoughts:

An invaluable truth explained so robustly in few lines! “Life is a broken- winged bird” is what I think is one of the most perfect metaphors for an ‘existence of any being without dreams’. I like this poem because Hughes charmingly persuades the reader in depth to dream & to desire. For this reason that, these are the core underlying elements …to force one to progress and take that next step ahead.
I believe – our Dreams are the churning drive for our tomorrows… Or else even waking up for the next day would be so difficult ..
Hughes poem make me think again, that a promising future are only for those who would dream fearlessly today. So ’Hold fast to dreams’..:)
Dream Big, Dream Wild – grow with it, thrive in it..and create the difference you yearn. Never dream for the sake of it – Dream to capture it as your reality!! How I love to say the phrase – ‘I am living the dream’ but the question is how often did we say it up till now??
